The Symptoms Counter
Nineteen different symptoms, counted one by one from the statements of real Long COVID patients and caregivers who wrote to us and said: share my story. This is what “Long COVID” actually means, body system by body system — and it is only what people happened to mention.

One person counted 25 symptoms of her own. Another counted hundreds of appointments. These bars are floors, not ceilings - if a symptom isn’t listed here, it only means nobody happened to name it in their statement yet.
How we count
The counter includes every statement emailed to longcovidstatements@gmail.com, even ones not published as story pages; the percentages count only what people described in detail. We count only what each person actually described - if a symptom or hardship is not mentioned, it isn’t counted, so these numbers are a floor, not a ceiling. This is a community testimony, not a clinical study - and that is exactly its power: this is what Long COVID looks like when the people living it do the counting.
